Lucky Thirteen

Almost at the halfway point, I had my thirteenth treatment today. The techs, much like the nurses at the medical oncology office, are becoming much like 'work friends'. We share small talk, trade stories, they ask how it's going. And it's going. One of them mentioned that his mother had cancer and that treatment was nowhere near what it is today. I couldn't bring myself to ask for more details.

It's been pretty the last few days and the drive is pleasant on the way to UCONN. When I come out, the view is pretty amazing. There's a "mountain" (a "speed-bump" by west coast standards) and the clear blue skies contrast with the colored leaves. The hospital is atop a hill so the view is nearly 360 degrees. Many days I've thought 'bring your camera tomorrow' and one day I might even remember on the way out the door.

My skin is itchy, I have some pangs of pain or discomfort but today I realized that I have little to complain about. Bailey is well cared for and developing a bond with Lee, there is little stress anymore about actually going to the appointments. The days are going by quickly enough, I can keep up with the rest of my life and the kids, etc. Thank you, my friend, for getting me to that realization. Before I left I did a few yoga stretches/poses. I felt a little stronger. My arm seems not to be swollen any longer and I've not had any arm pain lately.
