08 Begins in Snowfall

Another snowfall is blanketing us here in CT. I have a sneaking suspicion that Mother Nature is laughing her ass off at the fact that we'd been snow-less for a decade and she's making up for it all during this last month. She has a sick sense of humor.

Today is January first. Many of us will try to make a meaningful resolution or change in our life or our habits. I had said months ago that I wanted to write down all the things I needed to let go of and throw them into a fire. What a setting the snowfall is providing for that today. Get the fire going, the items listed and toss them to the flames one by one. They are a mix of recent and past memories and regrets, guilt over something hurtful said or done long ago, and they will burn away this day and be released making room for all of the good things to make a home in me.

I won't hold myself to some weight-loss or diet resolution. Only to the promise to myself that I will create the life and the happiness that my family deserves. This year will be one for the books. Thank you good friends, for helping me along the way.

I wish you the best for 2008. I hope to walk with you, laugh with you, share a drink and a meal, some chocolates and definitely a hug.
