late adopter

Those of you who have had an iPod for the last 7 years need to just accept that I didn't. I am late to adopt this technology. They were a lot of money - money that we were spending elsewhere on other stuff. I didn't have time to play with it. I can watch LOST on TV or online. OK, since I know that I am in fact missing out on something that I would use and enjoy, I bought a Shuffle. It's so non-committal at $50 and only 1G of space. But look, it's a step in the right direction. Maybe I'll skip right over the video iPods and get the new iPhone when I realize how much I've been missing. Why not?

When I got to my laptop to download some music to my new toy, I discovered that 99% of the "Music library" on my Mac is Kid Music! What did I do with me? So I am downloading a million podcasts that I've been wanting to listen to and I'll start there. And then my friends with all the cool gadgets can have a huge "I told you so" moment when I start pining for the newest gadget and upgrades.

I'm slowly creeping our of the pre-historic era that I reside in technology-wise. Wish me luck. I think that while my children are in swim lessons this week, I'll be watching from a quiet spot and listening to my iPod. 45 minutes each of 5 days - it's a treat.
