It was better this weekend

On Sundays after treatments I have to get a shot of neulasta (sp?) to help boost my blood cell counts. Last time there was some kind of mix-up. The doctor on call hadn't received any info about me coming and on top of that he was 20 minutes late. So the first time was rough. Mom had taken me to the hospital and we were anxious finding our way to this "new" place, getting a dose of another medicine we didn't know what to expect... To their credit, everyone at the medical oncology office has been so apologetic. And this weekend, the on-call doctor was expecting me. I didn't have unnecessary stress.

Kevin and I went and decided to take a little tour of downtown on the way home. There's a nice park, Bushnell Park, including a covered carousel near the State House. I'm sure we'll be taking the kids there. We drove by some pretty neighborhoods in Hartford. Spring really does wonders for the area and my mood.

Still feeling OK. I'm tired but I have an appetite. I'll go to bed with the kids tonight no doubt and rest up for the week ahead. My folks are on their way home... Jacqueline misses them already but we'll see them on Mothers' Day. It's nice to have my family here to help and I think it's making all the difference.
