Cosmetic Therapy

I don't know if this was part of their plan but those ladies at "Look good... feel better" are helping with my arm mobility. You see, I never really kept to a beauty regimen. Yes, I washed my face at bedtime, but I used whatever soap, whatever lotion, whatever. Since I got my bag of goodies from Look Good Feel Better I have kept to a pretty good routine. And I keep the cleanser and toner on the top shelf in the medicine cabinet. This is where the therapy comes in. Normally I'd reach with my left arm but it has been the hardest thing to overcome; that over the shoulder lift of my arm. I actually have a tendon or something that is so tight I can see and feel it in my armpit. Clearly I need to keep doing the physical therapy exercises I learned at the hospital. But this morning I could reach the toner off the top shelf with my left arm without wincing. The daily reach, the stretch, is healing my arm and helping return mobility.

Am I really blogging about toner and armpits?

Well then I got dressed into a pretty top, changed my mind and I was able to take my shirt off the "normal" way. You know, crossing your arms to opposite shoulders and pulling over your head. I can do that again. It's something that I never thought would bring a smile to my face. Something so simple.

I want to put out another notice about the dedication of a few friends to the breast cancer cause. Two of my girlfriends are walking for breast cancer fund-raisers; one in Atlanta and one on Long Island. I suspect that others are participating and supporting their friends and their fund-raisers. Please consider contributing to the efforts of Lalas and Monika.

Enjoy the change in seasons - the days have been beautiful here. I have been taking walks with Bailey and trying not to get hammered by the acorns falling from the tallest oaks on the block. Soon I might even be able to go out without a cap! Right now my hair's still a bit short for public appearances but it is coming in. I feel like we've turned a corner, I'm on the last lap of this course to recovery.
