I had an uneventful trip to radiation today. Got through treatment #16! More behind me than are ahead of me. It feels good to know that. It's different there at the office these days. Obviously my pal is done with her treatments, but there are a whole new group of patients right now and they are all older men. It's a little awkward to come flying out of the dressing room into the hallway and come face-to-face with a grandfatherly man. I think that they are equally surprised to see me. I'm the only one who doesn't wear too much aftershave.
I've been asked a few times about the radiation effects on my day-to-day. I mean, I'm tired but I attribute that 'fatigue' to parenthood more than to treatment. The pink skin is uncomfortable but manageable with the super-size, super-restorative Eucerin lotion I bought at the onset. Like so many things, having the right equipment makes such a difference in the ease of the task.

PS --
ran across this gem, the women's conference that features a mornign conference with a most hilarious intro by jamie lee curtis, introducing the panel of wives of the candidates, aka the architects of change, elizabeth edwards, cindy mccain, michelle obama, ann romney, jeri thompson, and moderated by maria shriver.
at 1:19 [one hour and nineteen minutes] of elapsed time, there is a 12 minute special about breast cancer introduced by linda ellerbee and with on eof my most admired role models, elizabeth edwards, eloquently speaking.
it is beautiful, featuring a brief snippet of a 47 [forty seven] year survivor! a nearly 60-year-old teacher, who continued to teach while hooked up to an IV, and during radiations sessions to make plans to buy a Harley.
at the end, it contains a most compelling request from linda ellerbee and elizabeth edwards.
this is posted for all the women that love jenn to watch alone with all the men in your lives that love you.
with love and gratitude to you, jenn,
xo,
cherie
