Three Good Things Today

I'm going to quit while I'm ahead.
  1. I shopped at Target and it was wonderful. Some poor souls were subject to my rant about the Target experience I had on Saturday. My typical $100 visit to stock up on household items was cut short by poor service, bad manners and just general ickiness. I spent a meager $6 on the 2 critical level products I needed to leave with. Well, that and the gas it took to drive past a Walmart to get there.

But today, today my dream Target of Torrington was clean and bright and chock full of good deals and great coupons. They had the right size in boots for Kevin to replace his C-mas gift. Bailey and I had fun getting groceries and hearts and crocodile kid-cups for Hearts Day. I went so far as to request that the cashier tell the manager how much better their store was than the other. It was that good, my total proved it. Ka-ching.
  2. The sun is out and it's warm. No bundling up today. It's 'crack-the-window' warm and for CT in January, that's pretty amazing. It is windy. So much so that my hat blew clear off my head as we left the store but some kind young man chased it down for me. He may get credit as a 2(b) in the list here.
  3. I got a package in the mail. A hand-made hug, er - blanket, to cuddle up with when it cools down this evening. I love it. So does Bailey. He always tries to glom my blankets.
So that's it. I am in for the remainder of the day. Well, I may be forced to go to the grocery store where I will do my best to keep my head up and my eyes straight-ahead to avoid any tarnish on a near perfect day in suburbia. I even wore a 'soccer-mom' outfit; jeans, pink t and white velour zip-up hoodie, and that pink hat. But I may stay in anyway and keep a low profile, play it safe and hope for 3 good things again tomorrow.

PS. I almost fogot the part about being "super woman" and making chicken-pot pies for dinner from the roasted chicken left-overs. I ROCKED today. I am SO having some chocolate.

ah, your sharing about being "super woman" so reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by georgia o'keefe that may be paraphrased:

'women will never be able to attain the same levels of success as men for they are not permitted to have a wife.'

reading about but a few of your tasks for the day and topped off with a typical jenn, 'it is no big deal' in a P.S. pertaining to your culinary accomplishment, led me to the need to seek out some beauty on the internet and i found this site, which so reminds me of you and YOUR talent --> BEAUTY <-- and of course this quote below that creates envious yearning within me about you and your levels of creativity:

“To create one's own world in any of the arts takes courage.” ... Georgia O'Keefe

please continue writing, jenn. i think you are on to something --- BIG!

ka-ching, indeed!

love,
