Summer's Slipping By

We're savoring the summer vacation even when it seems hectic. Jacqueline is done with camp and August finds us busier with some easy trips and events to celebrate.

It's a month of milestones: 1 yr since my surgery, 10 years married, 40th anniversary for my parents, 4th for the Cawleys, a few birthdays peppered in there, too. Busy month. I've not forgotten that last summer I was all-a-twitter because my absentee eyebrows were on the return path. That was great news. I had a lot on my agenda regarding cancer treatment. It's a different feeling to be essentially 'through' with my own treatment. Now I feel like I need to be in the army fighting cancer. There are several outlets for this.

They have a moving PSA for this campaign and I urge you to take a look.

There are countless charities, there are friends and family to be assisted through the experience, there are so many ways to do something. I need to do something myself. Maybe all those frames will be sold to raise money for researching cancer treatments. Perhaps I'll actually deliver those books to the oncology office for patients and caregivers to read during treatment sessions.

So I'll be tweezing my once-again-unruly brows before the weekend getaway and plotting the next steps that I will take on my path. Isn't the Fall the season of the "walks"?
